What can you reach for during the next dead calm? © Magnus Smith

The YachtsandYachting.com app has recently been upgraded to offer you a more convenient way to read the latest sailing news on your smartphone or tablet. By setting your favourite clubs and classes, the news can be tailored to suit you.

As with the first version of the app, the news articles are downloaded when you are connected, so you can read them whenever you want to... even when you've got no signal. When the queue for bacon sandwiches at your club gets unbearably long, you won't be bored.

Available for free on all major devices: for Android in the Google Play store, for iOS in Apple's Appstore, and for Kindle Fire in the Amazon app store.

Over the next few years we will be developing new features specifically designed for smartphones and would welcome your suggestions on this – email Mark Jardine with your ideas.

Setting your favourite clubs/classes/events/brands now will prepare your account for the app when you log in, plus the yachtsandyachting.com homepage will also show you tailored news via the 'Favourites' tab (just above the list of news articles).

YachtsandYachting.com is the first port of call for racing sailors in the UK and increasingly worldwide. We cover all types of sailboat racing and feature stories from the America's Cup to the smallest of grass-roots events. Resources on YachtsandYachting.com include clubs, classes, products, calendar, classifieds, forum, photos and much more.
