FFSC has completed its renovations following the tidal surge in December last year. On Friday 11th July, a relaunch party was held at the club, with over 90 guests coming to see the new decoration, lighting and restored building works and enjoy a glass or two!
Our local MP, Dr Therese Coffey, unveiled a plaque commemorating the Ian Bingham legacy, which had helped to pay for much of the refurbishment.
As part of the redecoration of the club, the FFSC collection of 33 original Carl Giles cartoons was curated into a permanent exhibition and a small catalogue produced in aid of the RNLI.
BBC Radio Suffolk came and interviewed Rear Commodore Max Evans about the Tidal surge and the refurbishment work undertaken by local builder Mike Ferris and many club volunteers.
The club also launched its redesigned website at: www.ffsc.co.uk - all in all a very busy and productive time for the club which is hosting the 505 National Championships from 24th-27th July and the charity fundraising Bart's Bash on the 21st September.
All are welcome to come to the club and see what we are up to, with regular racing on Wednesday evenings throughout the season along with social events and a cruising programme. Details are on the new website!
