Introducing the MC38 Class © McConaghy
The MC38 delivers high performance racing in a One Design Class. Designed for international, inter-state or inter-club racing, the MC38 has a removable carbon keel-fin for ease of transport. McConaghy build and finish quality ensure strong, fast and identical boats for maximum racing, without the need for maximum crew.
Aim
- Exhilarating and affordable Grand Prix racing on Solent waters.
- Boats raced under strict OD rules, laid out by the 'MC38 Class Rule', with tweaks for UK waters.
- A new and highly competitive, exciting approach to UK racing.
- On the water price for £250,000 ex. VAT.
- A centrally controlled race management system. Organised to meet owner's demands.
- Annual budget limitations to control the 'arms race' effect.
Events (6 OD events a year)
- April: Easter Regatta
- May: OD Event
- June: IRC Nationals
- July: OD Event
- August: Cowes Week
- September: OD Event
The regattas will have race management by Ancasta, but run alongside existing events for some of the schedule. There are big incentives for overall Championship winner (a year's free Dry Sailing contract). Our aim is for a self-policing class with sporadic measurement tests to ensure class rules are upheld and on the water umpiring.

We consider the MC38 to be leagues ahead of its competitors in the Bang vs Buck race and will offer a level of affordable, grand prix racing that has never been seen before in UK waters.
