This was the last in the Fairhaven Lasers Summer Series. Two races had been lost, one due to a red algal bloom and the other blown off the lake by storm force winds, but this turned out to be a fine day's sailing, in superb surroundings.

A-rigs were the order of the day with light and variable breezes favouring some parts of the course over others. This resulted in close racing, with 6 of the 11 skippers managing to post a 1st place.

Well done to Fleetwood's Tony Wilson, winning the day and the series, with Robert Wheeler, pushing him all the way. Also to Tim, Chris and Malcolm, who put in very creditable performances with their smaller yachts.

Prizes donated by RCLasers.com, were presented by B&F Club Chairman Malcolm Frary outside the newly refurbished pavilion. Thanks Fylde Borough.

Next year will see Fairhaven and Fleetwood competing in a joint (F&F) open series.

With a race within a race for the Johnson family The wind was blowing from the clubhouse direction for the ten RC Laser entries. It looked to be a stock 'B' rig all-dayer, but with the light patch at the entry point, a bit of extra sail cloth helps you get through the lulls. Posted on 6 Oct 2024

With the wind forever increasing in strength a couple of 'D' rigs were brought out The showers had just about died out on arrival, to leave us with a nice Blowy Westerly.
