A great event held at Lac du Der (200km East of Paris) and nice results by the Musto Skiffs filling the top 4 spots! Congratulations to Ben Scholing for the impressive overall win after starting so bad after four races.

Thursday, Friday Training:
Pre-event coaching was well attended starting with 10 boats and growing to over 30 by Friday / Sat am.

Saturday, Race 1:
On Saturday saw a 30 degree wind shift during the second beat. Nicholas and Ben had a good battle choosing different tracks down the run but finishing very close. Alex pulled through to 3rd after Roger capsized with Dieter in 4th.

Saturday, Race 2:
And the wind was 15-20kts – Nicholas had great pace and had a nice lead over Ben but up the 2nd beat they both read the shifts wrong and Paul and Roger slipped past. Paul held onto take the win from Roger with Nicolas 3rd.

Saturday, Race 3:
Ben's main halyard broke (never use a bobble!) so we have no further information.

Sunday, Race 4-7:
All held in similar conditions – a cold and shifty NE wind of 10-16kts with lovely sunshine. Ben capsized on the run in race 4 after tangling with an upwind boat. Roger won from Nic and Paul.

Sunday, Race 5,6,7:
Ben found the groove and took the next 3 wins – race 6 had a very close finish with 3 boats finishing within 2 seconds. Race 7 Alex finished 2nd.

Monday, Race 8:
Very light, drifting conditions. Roger was leading but dropped his kite to return through the line and lost out to Ben.
