Following the amazing success of last year's event, Lymington Town Sailing Club (LTSC) is going to 'Push the Boat Out' once more on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2015.

This local and friendly sailing club based in The Bath House, Bath Road Lymington will be offering taster sailing sessions for individuals and groups in dinghies and keelboats. Last year saw people of all ages enjoy perfect weather conditions to sail in Lymington Harbour, meet club members and use the club facilities for the weekend. Many people enjoyed their experiences so much they returned for a second or third session, and joined the club to continue their sailing.

You may be completely new to sailing, or looking to get back to the sport after a break. LTSC is offering anybody the chance to sail at this RYA promoted event. There will be a range of boats to choose from, including the RS Vision and Wayfarer dinghies, and keelboats. You will sail with a competent club member for a short trip down the Lymington River to and from the club pontoon in the harbour in your chosen boat. You can be as involved in the experience as you want. All LTSC ask is that you contact Alastair, the Sailing Secretary to discuss your requirements before the event, and book your sail, as this helps reduce waiting times.

The club will be open on both Saturday 9th May and Sunday 10th May from 10am until 4pm, where you can meet club members and get more information about the facilities and training opportunities. The restaurant and bar will be open on both days, and you and any non-sailing members of your party, are welcome to stay and watch the activity from The Solent Room and terrace at the club.

The LTSC can offer many routes into the sport. Formal RYA dinghy training can be undertaken with qualified dinghy instructors. Club members are also encouraged to sharpen their skills through the Saturday Sailing Programme. This supervised session is held on Saturday afternoons and allows a mixed group of club members to sail and learn together.

If you would like to sail as part of the Push the Boat Out event, you will need to contact Alastair, Sailing Secretary at LTSC. You will need suitable clothing such as light trousers or shorts, a wind-proof top and warm layers. Soft soled shoes are ideal while you are moving in the boats. Sailing is a water-based sport, and you should be prepared to get splashed while on the water. LTSC can provide buoyancy aids which must be worn on the pontoon and in the boats.

LTSC is looking forward to welcoming you to the Club for the Push the Boat Out event on Saturday May 9th and Sunday May 10th, and know you will have a great experience sailing.
