Wear your support at the upcoming racing! Land Rover BAR are working with Henri Lloyd as their official Technical Clothing Supplier and – with the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth just weeks away – the range is being extended to include fleeces and Akenham jackets, joining the polo shirts, t-shirts and caps already in the clothing range – now in both white and blue.
The Land Rover BAR range will be available on stands at the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth, and later in the summer at the Bermuda and Gothenburg events. It's also available at Henri Lloyd sailing stores, selected wholesale accounts, and online at www.henrilloyd.com/BARshop don't forget that for a small charge, Henri Lloyd will be offering a kit personalisation service so you can add your name to selected garments – just like Ben and the Land Rover BAR Sailing Team.
The first fruits of the partnership's technical developments will also be seen on the race course in Portsmouth at the end of July. A dedicated panel from Land Rover BAR has been working with the designers at Henri Lloyd on the collaborative development of a bespoke range of technical clothing for the sailing team.
The AC45F and the America's Cup Class multihulls will provide sailors with one of the most extreme inshore racing environments. The boat speeds can reach up to 50mph, resulting in the chilling effect of constant high apparent winds combined with a deluge of very fast moving spray.
The sailor's technical products have been engineered using the latest fabrics, design and new technology to offer protection from these extreme elements, whilst also allowing the sailing team the flexibility, agility and comfort needed so that they are able to focus on their performance and the racing.
The technical range includes cold weather tops and long johns in 2mm super stretch double lined neoprene; rash vests and warm weather pants in nylon spandex, with a matching 1mm neoprene super stretch top.
The key to performance is in the design details with liquid silicone used on blind stitched seams for increased durability, comfort and less friction in movement. It's for the same reason that wherever possible seams have been designed to only traverse low movement areas. Abrasion resistant reinforcements have been added to all the high wear areas.
Future Henri Lloyd customers will benefit as the experiences and lessons learned from designing this range will be incorporated into future Henri Lloyd products. Henri Lloyd have always been at the forefront of technical innovation in marine clothing and introduced a number of design firsts which are now accepted as industry standards.
There's no better way to show your support for Britain's challenger for the 35th America's Cup!
