The annual inter-club race between Seafarers Sailing Club, Lee on Solent Sailing Club, & Hillhead Sailing Club was held on Saturday July 18th off Saltern's Shore, Hillhead, Fareham under the burgee of Seafarers Sailing Club.
65 boats came to the line for an average lap race over 75 minutes, in a good 17 knot South Westerly with a typical Solent chop.
The fleet was varied, from a 49er to Mirrors, with 57 finishing. A committee boat start resulted in 4 boats OCS with 3 returning. Line honours went to Simon Coles (LOSSC) in his 49er 644.
The corrected results on PY showed Ian Morgan (HHSC) first in his D-Zero 156, Stuart Regnard/Charlotte Plunkett (LOSSC) were 2nd in their 2000 2325, Malcolm Noyce/Ian Bune (SSC) 3rd in their Stratos 332.
Race Committee, Competitors, and Supporters then adjourned to Seafarers for an excellent tea (provided by Seafarers Ladies). The team results corrected for fleet size were 1st Seafarers Sailing Club 21 finishers (with a Corrected Average Score of) 16.49, 2nd Lee on Solent Sailing Club 15 finishers (CAS) 18.06, 3rd Hillhead Sailing Club 21 finishers (CAS) 18.49.
We are looking forward to next year's event under the burgee of Hillhead Sailing Club.
