Cambridgeshire 2 are winners of the 2015 NSSA Single Handed Team Racing sailed at Hunts Sailing Club in Cambridgeshire this weekend, 10th and 11th October. They beat Royal Hospital School 2:0 in a closely fought Final.

The team of Michael Carver, Harry Moffatt and Tom Bryant were top of the table of 32 teams after the 160 races comprising 9 rounds and the end of the Swiss League part of the competition. They then had to battle through the semi finals which pitted Cambridgeshire against Plymouth 2 and a young Royal Hospital Team against Kent. Both Cambs and RHS came through with 2:0 wins.

In the Final RHS won the both starts but Cambs managed to conversions at mark 1 in both races. RHS did manage to compress the field on the run but were unable to break the Cambridge stranglehold, as shown in the results which saw Cambs finishing 2, 3, 4 and 1, 2, 6.

The consolation for RHS is that they took the Under 16 Trophy. Worcesteshire 5 were awarded the Under 12 Trophy while Cambridge 1 took the Silver Fleet Trophy for the bottom half of the draw.

It was a great weekend with good weather and great hospitality from the local members of Hunts Sailing Club who worked really hard all weekend to make the event such a success. We are grateful for their Commodores help in presenting the trophies.
