Hyde sails have had one of their best years for a long time. In every fleet we are active in we have either won the major events or come pretty close.
There have been some spectacular success stories such as the two young sailors taking the Fireball Worlds by storm winning 4 races and coming a credible 2nd overall. We must also give a huge pat on the back to our head sail designer – Richard Lovering who won the Flying Fifteen championship.
A first in the Squib in Ireland at the Irish Championship and a 2,3,4 at the British Championship with the first three boats on equal points only being separated by count back.
Hyde MD Nigel Grogan and his son Jack had a year of 'if onlys' with a 4th at the Nationals that could have been the win they have been chasing had it not been for that 'extra lap' (that's another story).
Other success by Hyde customers include championship wins in the Swallow and Sandhopper keelboats and domination of the F18 Catamaran Championship.
In the National classes we saw open meeting wins in the Albacore and Solo.
