Laser Vago Open North Event 2016 at Yorkshire Dales SC - Preview

Now in its sixth year, 'Open North' is an annual training, coaching, social and racing event which caters for Laser Vago sailors of all levels of ability, presented in such a way that everyone, from beginners to experts, will benefit by sharing and learning.

The emphasis is on having fun, so you'll find an informal attitude throughout the event both on and off the water. Training and coaching is provided by Ed and Dave, two of the Class Association's top National circuit sailors, who have many years of experience in all aspects of single and double handing the Vago. They're joined again by Mike as our esteemed Race Officer and tactics lecturer.

Based at Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club, the 2016 Laser Vago Open North Event takes place on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May and includes full catering and free onsite camping as well as training, coaching and short duration racing for all formats of Vago. Topics will range from rigging and trapezing right through to race rules and tactics: and it's all with presented with a smile!

Extra activities for the non sailors and families will be available while extra informal sailing formats may also include team and relay racing along with speed trials, depending on the weather of course.

With the backdrop of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and amazing club facilities, you can expect the usual event photos and videos, top quality food and Northern welcome:)
