Tinker Rally at Chichester Yacht Club

It was a good turnout with 16 boats attending. Five races over the two days using the same triangular course (the buoys being Birdham Racing, Heron, & Lake). All racing was in the afternoon due to tide times.

Saturday was a scorcher with winds increasing from OK to bang on as the day progressed.

Sunday slightly overcast with good fairly steady wind for racing, again increasing as the day went on with one boat changing down to the little jib for the last race.

There was a steady flow of cruisers coming down from Dell Quay and out of Chichester Marina which meant some Tinkers having to give way, increasing the lead of those already having crossed the channel.

Alistair Parker had a well deserved win and took the trophy.

The next rally is at Bassenthwaite Sailing Club in Cumbria on 17th/18th September 2016.
