North Sails J/70 XCS-1 Crosscut Mainsail © North Sails

North Sails is constantly developing faster sails and products that better fit the sailing style of our clients. The new XCS-1 is the result of a demand for an all-around crosscut mainsail. After many months of testing the new XCS-1 has been added to North's winning inventory for the J/70 class.
"The XCS-1 was designed, tested and brought to market to satisfy some customers preference for a more dynamic and less rig tune critical sail. The results this summer with the new main have been excellent! We are hearing that it has a wide “groove” from the customers that use it. In light wind the rig can be set looser to achieve the optimal amount of headstay sag and in heavy air it depowers nicely with a tighter rig and substantial backstay. Because of the crosscut construction and the bias stretch, it fits extreme mast bend very well and stays smooth in big breeze." -- Tim Healy
Please don't hesitate to ask me or any of our J/70 experts any questions you may have.
