Vodafone finishes the New Caledonia Groupama Race in 2 days 33 minutes 12 seconds © New Caledonia Groupama Race

Vodafone has arrived in Nouméa after 2 days of racing. She is the fastest boat to finish the New Caledonia longest windward / leeward race.

Even if the weather conditions along the East coast were not favourable, she sailed down the west coast at more than 20 knots in 14 hours.

The skipper, Simon Hull, thrilled by his race, asked for "more wind" to come back in 2018 and to finish the race in less than 2 days!

The first monohulls, Scallywag, Beau Geste and Ichi Ban are expected during the night and tomorrow.

Concerning New-Caledonian teams, Jessica Rabbit is the first to go through the Grand Passage, next to Ran Tan, then Birdies Furax and Moemiti, behind the monohulls Keel Bill, Eye Candy, BNC.

The first night was very tactical and decisive for results. The second night was perfect with the wind blowing at more than 20 knots and today is more quiet.

Most of the crews are in a good mood but they are getting worried as there is no wind announced for the third upcoming night...
