HD Sails Scottish Solo Traveller at Largo Bay Sailing Club

by David Parkin 27 Jun 2018 07:04 BST 23 June 2018

Largo Bay SC hosted the recent Scottish Solo Traveller supported by HD sails on Saturday 23rd.

The turnout was rather reduced as some boats were in transit to Lake Garda, the Gibbs from LBSC weren't sailing, Derek as he was recovering from a recent illness and Kevan as he was doing a great job as race officer for the day.

The forecast promised 12 knots from the west with sun and though the first race was held in a lighter and patchy wind the prediction came true for races 2 and 3 giving superb sailing on true triangle / sausage courses. 10 visiting boats came to the start from as far as Aberdeen and the Borders.

The close racing meant that virtually no-one had consistent good results with the top four overall all scoring a 6, 7, or 8! When the results were counted Keith Milroy from St Mary's Loch was first with 3 points with Willie Todd from Largs SC in second and Malcom Worsley from Royal Tay in third.

The next event is at Loch Lomond on Saturday July 14th.
