Royal Western Yacht Club OSTAR & TWOSTAR set for May 2020

The Royal Western Yacht Club is pleased to announce another edition of their iconic Oceanic Races, the OSTAR and TWOSTAR Transatlantic Race.

The Original singlehanded Transatlantic Race (OSTAR) and the Two-Handed Transatlantic Race (TWOSTAR is an east-to-west yacht race across the North Atlantic from Plymouth UK to Newport, Rhode Island.

Originally planned for 25th May 2020 the OSTAR and TWOSTAR will now start on Sunday 10th May in Plymouth Sound. There will be celebrations taking place from the 1st to 10th May and will culminate in the start of the races.

The Event also forms part of Plymouth's Mayflower 400 celebrations whose Chief Executive, Charles Hackett, said " The start of the Transatlatic Singlehanded and Twohanded Transatlantic Races - the OSTAR and TWOSTAR - on the same day as the professional TRANSAT will be an important part of the extensive portfolio of waterborne activity planned for 2020".

As we approach half way this is anyone's race on corrected time The last 24 hours has seen another exceptional shift put in by AJ wanderlust who topped the charts for miles travelled with 152NM, second was Odyssey with 149 and back in the running was Alchemy with 135. MailaSail OSTAR & TWOSTAR entry opens Sunday
