Day 2 of racing at the 2018 Para World Championships saw the RS Venture Connect class continue racing in their two flight format. With the winners of each flight advancing to the final without having to sail in the knock out rounds.

On another overcast day in Sheboygan, the fleet launched with slightly more pressure than the previous day. The increase in breeze certainly kept the racing very tight, making for great viewing. There were only a few boat lengths between any of the boats in all six races that day.

In flight A, Alex Rickham/Hannah Stodel – GBR 1 smashed out five bullets and won their flight with a race to spare. Will Street/Jonathan Currell – GBR 2 were never far behind and finished second with Enrique Vives/Gabriel Barroso de Maria - ESP and Matteo Balbo/Olivier Bollmann - SUI finishing third and fourth respectively.

Racing in flight B, John McRoberts/Scott Lutes – CAN had an incredible six firsts and won their flight with ease. The ITA Team of Gian Bachisio Pira/Gianluca Raggi proved that they are real contenders with a very consistent day, finishing second in their flight. USA Team, Eli Workman/Cindy Walker had a roller-coaster of a day and finished third.

If Eli and Cindy can get to the final anything could happen, as they have proved that they have great pace on the water. Shinya Yamamoto/Rie Ariyoshi - JAP finished fourth but continued to improve throughout the series.

Racing progresses tomorrow with the sailors going into a day of round robin racing, where the winner will progress to the final and the boat that is in last place will sadly be going home.
