The biathlon combining sailing and off-road comes back with all-round news for the 3rd edition. Offshore sailing on-board G34 one-design, opening to traditional 4x4 vehicles and a brand new setting are amongst the revolutions for spring 2019.

Amsterdam October 18 2018- After an extraordinary last edition, taken at the photo-finish by Swiss ocean sailor Andrea Rossi against the all-Russian team led by rally rider Anastasia Nifontova, Elements race evolves once again in the direction of pure adventure. The event changes setting to discover the southern Sardinian coast and to make of Marina di Capitana the new base from the 27th to the 30th of April 2019.

The wild landscape and southern Mediterranean waters are almost a prelude to the future destinations and hide the African coastline which sits a scarce 100Nm further.

The successful two day sailing two day off-road formula is confirmed whilst major novelties come both in the vehicle park and in the distances raced.

The off-road stages navigated by road-book are now enriched by speed-regularity passages and will open to traditional 4x4 vehicles alongside the SSVs already seen in the previous editions.

"At Elements Race we are raising the bar year-in-year-out." comments Rudy Briani, seven times at the Dakar and responsible for the off-road stages, "In 2019 we will have hidden check-points, increase the speed rhythm and altogether be more attractive for those participants who already have rally and rally-raid experience."

The sailing element of the biathlon will also undergo significant changes giving up the coastal dimension of the J70s to welcome the fast G34 one-design boats of Cino Ricci designed by Jean-Marie Finot for the epic Giro d'Italia a Vela.

The coordination of the challenging 80Nm regatta running from Marina di Capitana round Isola Rossa and back will be entrusted to Cino's son Franco Ricci with his Scuola Italia in Vela.

"The G34 is a technical boat made for high performance offshore racing", explains Franco Ricci "and our location in southern Sardinia offers options to sail in any meteorological condition."

ELEMENTS RACE's only prerequisite for participation is that out of the four team members, two are experienced sailors and two carry a driver's license valid on Italian soil.

The general and final rankings are a sum of the daily points and will decide the Elements Race podium after 4 days of non-stop action.

The organisation of the event is in the hands of an experience-rich team of professionals from the worlds of sailing and off-road; together with the above mentioned DrivEvent of Rudy Briani and Scuola Italia in Vela, once again Caffè Veloce and CAPTEC renew their partnership as technical sponsors, and for this edition Dragonfly.

Elements Race is born from the idea of co-founders Guglielmo Fontana-Rava and Danil Kuzvesov professionals in the automotive industry and enthusiastic land and sea adventurers.

Until the 30th of November 2018 the aspiring participants can benefit from an early fee of 890 euros per person and on the official website www.elementsrace.com they can find all the information including the 4-day programme and the registration procedure.
