The familiar blue- and red-, wave-like, M-shaped logo of The Moorings will once again be a familiar sight to sailors racing in the 2019 St. Thomas International Regatta (STIR), set for March 22-24, 2019. Regatta organizers are pleased to announce that The Moorings, the Clearwater, Florida-headquartered world's premier yacht charter company, will once again sponsor the use of one of its custom-designed catamarans as a committee boat.

"For 50 years The Moorings has been an integral part of the sailing community in the Virgin Islands, and we are proud to once again sponsor the STIR in 2019," says Ian Pedersen, marketing manager. "It is an honor to be involved in such a tradition and encouraging to once again see so many sailors from all over the world visit the U.S. and British Virgin Islands."

The Moorings 514PC is the ideal vessel to act as a committee boat. The vessel's wide platform allows for plenty of space for the committee to spread out and do their work, while also housing all of the equipment. Additionally, the power catamaran enables the committee to quickly move from point to point while the race is ongoing, ensuring a smoothly run race of all involved. The 514PC has been utilized as a committee boat not only in the STIR, but also in the BVI Spring Regatta, Interline Regatta, as well as Grenada Sailing Week in recent years.

"We as the organizers of STIR, hosted at the St. Thomas Yacht Club (STYC), would like to thank The Moorings for their many years of continual support for our event. The use of one of their vessels as a committee boat really helps us to do what we are best known for as a regatta. That is, offering top-notch, professionally-run, round-the-buoy and round-the-island races," says Margo Lynch, STYC commodore and STIR co-director with Greer Scholes.

STIR, celebrating its 46th year, is a globally-recognized regatta renowned for its fantastic racing, first-class race committee and friendly can-do attitude towards its competitors.
