Renewing its partnership with the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, Sta-Lok is returning as the Official Standing Rigging Supplier for the 2019-20 edition.

Product testing doesn't come much tougher than a 40,000 nautical mile circumnavigation and during Sta-Lok's debut in the Clipper 2017-18 Race the rigging hardware installed on the fleet of 70ft racing yachts withstood every challenge as they raced around the world including fourteen metre waves and hurricane force winds in the North Pacific Ocean.

On the announcement of Sta-Lok renewing its partnership with the Clipper Race Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Clipper Race Chairman and Founder, said: "This is testament to both the products and the level of support and service we have received from Sta-Lok. We look forward to continuing our relationship, further testing its standing rigging throughout the next gruelling edition and showcasing Sta-Lok solutions on a global scale."

Specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of high-quality fittings for stainless steel wire rope, wire rope assemblies and structural tie rod systems for marine and industrial applications, Sta-Lok will supply over 450 bespoke fittings and 2150 metres of wire to kit out the fleet of Clipper 70s ahead of the upcoming circumnavigation. The nine-month refit process is well under way with every wire and fitting replaced and each mast stepped with Sta-Lok fittings ahead of the start of the Clipper 2019-20 Race which will start this summer.

Looking ahead at how this partnership continues to develop, Terry Barfield, Managing Director of Sta-Lok, said: "The Clipper Race offers us the chance to show the Sta-Lok products quality and incredible endurance during this intense and iconic adventure. We are looking forward to working with the Clipper Race on the 2019-20 edition."

The Clipper Race is a challenge like no other. It trains over 700 amateur sailors from all walks of life to take on one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world. The global route will see the teams race across six oceans and visit stunning and diverse locations across six continents.
