2019 J/22 Midwinter Championship at Fort Walton Yacht Club - Day 1

Thirty-one J/22s have convened for the J/22 Midwinter Championship at Fort Walton Yacht Club in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Three races took place on the inaugural day in winds between 6-12 knots. Two teams are knotted up at 8 points each, both logging identical finishing orders of a first, a second and a fifth on the dayKevin Doyles Mo Money and Mike Marshalls Bad News. Jeff Todds Hot Toddy rests in third with 14 points, and Chris Princings Team Award & Sports/Evil Dr. Pork Chop is another five ticks behind in fourth.

Marshall got off to a successful start in race one, as did Chris Doyles The Jug 4 1 and David Mullers Call The Ball. Casey Lamberts Blackburn Marine Racing took line honors in the middle challenge, ahead of Kevin Doyle and Todd. Then it was Kevin Doyles turn for the win, with Marshall and Todd on his tail.

Racing continues through Sunday.
