2019 Helly Hansen Women's Challenge at Manly Yacht Club: Overall

by Catherine Rofe 5 Apr 2019 20:06 BST 16-17 March 2019

After the postponement of the Helly Hansen Women's Challenge at Manly Yacht Club earlier in March due to inclement weather, Sydney Harbour was bathed in sunlight as the fleet competed in a solid 16-18 knot gusty sou' westerly breeze. Twenty three boats out of the original 36 entered, battled it out for some fabulous Helly Hansen prizes.

With some great tussles on the water providing some exciting racing for this popular women's event, congratulations go to all the podium winners. Zoe Taylor on Patrice took the line honours as well as 1st place PHS in Division 1 Female Helm.

Second place went to Lyn Humphries on Sirius followed by Liz Charles on Kayimai. In Division 2 1st place went to Jane McCullogh on Evie followed by Sue Crafer on Space Invader with Elyse Guevara in 3rd on Shining Star.

In Division 1 All Female crew Jan Bartel took 1st place on Espirit ahead of Janey Treleavan on Finn. Michelle Belgiorno returned to the event after some years absence with her Melges 20 winning Division 2 Female Helm.
