To meet the demands of business Hyde Sails has recently expanded their sail loft, in Cebu, the Philippines. Originally 16000sq ft the addition of a stand alone yacht sails making area has increased the loft to 35000sq ft with new offices and a larger production area. Additional high quality equipment includes an aeronaut cutter and a custom made heavy duty long arm sewing machine in the yacht sails area. A new knife wheel, fast and effective for cutting Kevlar and carbon laminates, has been installed in the loft along with two laser cutters.
Since the sail loft, wholly owned by Hyde, was set up three years ago the number of employees has increased from 20 to 150 including a production team, an administration department, maintenance and cleaning staff. The extension has been fitted out to the same high standard as the other parts of the building with air conditioning and modern facilities. Good working conditions and environment are essential both to employees and to ensure a high quality product.
Ian Flanders, General Manager at Cebu comments
'There has been more demand on the business as growth continues so the new equipment and additional space is welcomed by the team. This significant investment reflects commitment to service and the growth of Hyde Sails globally.'
