The fourteen GBR Cadet teams have completed their pre-event training in Krynica Morska, Poland, with RYA world team coach Ben Hazeldine and promotional team coach Angus Collingridge.
After a sterling performance in the Polish National Championship with podium positions in the overall event, under 15s and all girl teams, the Team GBR took a final day of training while the promotional fleet got a feel for their regatta course by competing in the ICC world championships practice race.
Team GBR followed up their on-water performance by loudly announcing their on-shore presence in Poland with their team chants along the opening ceremony procession through the town. The ICC world championships begin in earnest tomorrow (30 July) with launching expected to start from 10:30 for the 62 world team entries and 68 promotional cadets. Early nights for all to ensure the teams are refreshed and rehydrated ready for another cloud free sun filled day of sailing.
Follow the racing via the @GBRCadets live Twitter feed and via Facebook.
Team GBR Cadets would like to thank their class sponsor Zhik for their matching on-the-water kit and continued support for the class.
