ICOM UK continues its support of Cowes Week

ICOM UK is continuing its support of Cowes Week as Official Supplier of Radio Communication Equipment. Icom's sponsorship provides the event organisers, Cowes Week Limited (CWL) with a mixture of marine and commercial radio transceivers to help the officials in marshalling race activity.

The equipment supplied by Icom is used to provide communication between the race officers to co-ordinate race starts, set courses and marshal the competitors. The radios are also used for communicating with other vessels (including commercial shipping and ferries) and the coastguard.

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager of Icom UK said, "We have been involved with Cowes Week for over a decade, we are really proud to have such a strong relationship with this prestigious event. We want to wish all the competitors the best of luck during the week of racing."

Cowes Week takes place between the 10th and 17th of August 2019. The event is a key part of the British sporting calendar, attracting up to 1,000 competing boats, around 8,500 competitors and at least 100,000 visitors.
