It's been an incredible 24 hours in Malta, with many boats coming home, and a number of different provisional leaders on IRC Overall.

Back to backs?

Last night I was on the dock for the arrival of the JPK1180 Courrier Reccomande, who finished first on IRC Overall and in Division 5 and looked unlikely to be beaten apart from a potential redress hearing.

Here is my chat with the skipper, Gery Trentesaux, who also won last year's race overall.

What's this about redress?

Here is my evening Rolex Middle Sea Race update from last night after the crux of the top IRC finishers. What was all this about redress for the top boats you ask......? Here are the answers!

This morning, separate redress hearings have been heard for eight boats, not including the overnight provisional winner. The First 45 from Malta, Elusive 2 did file for redress, and were successful, so we are looking at a new provisional leader as the remainder of the hearings progress.

An Elusive win?

I caught up with Elusive 2 the First 45 straight after their successful claim for redress. They finished last night and were placed second on IRC Overall and first in Division 4. They have been awarded 28 minutes for their assistance to Blackwater (who are all safe) so they are now the provisional winners of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.

Amazing to chat to this Maltese family who have been a part of the race since the very beginning - literally brought a tear to my eye. I hope you enjoy this beautiful story, as we all wait to hear the official results...

More to come from the Rolex Middle Sea Race over the coming days.
