MELGES 24 WARCANOE WINS FIRST WINTER SERIES EVENT The heat was on in Miami with Michael Goldfarb's Warcanoe topping the charts at the first event of the Bacardi Winter Series. After a wildly windy day on Saturday, teams motored out under AP on Sunday. Warcanoe won Race 4 and the event, but it was the newest Melges 24, Zenda Express , that won Race 5. MELGES 20 RUSSIANS AT THE TOP IN MIAMI Congratulations to Igor Rytov's Russian Bogatyrs on winning the Melges 20 World League and Vladimir Prosikhin's NIKA on winning the first event of the Winter Series. When we finished the last race, we expected to be second and we were very happy with that, Prosikhin explained. It was truly a surprise!
