RYA Dinghy Show 2020 opens doors tomorrow

The RYA Dinghy Show in association with Yachts & Yachting returns to Alexandra Palace, London, this weekend (29 February- 01 March).

Get down early to see the official 2020 show opening where this year's hosts two-time gold medallist Sarah Ayton, rising Laser star Sam Whaley and Olympian Annie Lush will be joined by the British Sailing Team athletes who will be competing at the Tokyo Games this summer.

Sarah Ayton commented: "I have such fond memories of visiting the show as a child with my parents and now I'm really looking forward to taking my own kids to experience it's unique buzz! I look forward to seeing you all there".

The 2020 show boasts more than 170 exhibitors, 100 boats, and interactive features for all ages and a packed programme of expert speakers across three stages.

Here are some of Saturday's highlights...

  • The Green Blue University Sailing Sustainability Awards celebrate clubs up and down the country who have made their sailing more environmentally sustainable at 13.15 on the Great Hall Stage
  • Over in the Knowledge Zone at 16.00 join silver medallist Luke Patience and British Sailing Team's Eilidh McIntyre who will share their top tips on how to communicate under pressure to become a winning team
  • Find out who will be crowned RYA and Yachts & Yachting Club of the Year 2020? Find out on the Great Hall Stage at 16:00

RYA Show and Promotions Manager, Celia Edgington commented: "Build up for the Dinghy Show is in full swing, exhibitors are arriving and The Great Hall is taking shape already. With so much on this year, we're looking forward to kick-starting the season with another brilliant show".

Can't make it on Saturday? Don't worry, we'll be returning to do it all again with speakers and activities for all ages on Sunday.

Advance tickets are available at a special discount rate of £10.00 for RYA members and £12.50 for non-members. Groups can also take advantage of a special ticket price of £10 when booking six tickets or more. Don't forget four children go free with each paying adult as well.
