The United States Formula 18 Association (USF18) and US Sailing have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 F18 Americas and U.S. Multihull Championship, originally scheduled for September 26 to October 2, 2020, hosted by San Diego Yacht Club and Mission Bay Yacht Club.
Race organizers from USF18, US Sailing, Mission Bay Yacht Club and San Diego Yacht Club are exploring dates to reschedule this combined championship in 2021.
"After weeks of discussion, we have decided to postpone the 2020 U.S. Multihull Championship to next year," said Ashley Enders, U.S. Multihull Championship Committee Chair. "I want to thank Steve Stroebel, the USF18 Executive Board, US Sailing, Mission Bay Yacht Club and San Diego Yacht Club for trying everything in their power to find a way to run this event in 2020. Unfortunately, due to the high risk of the coronavirus pandemic there was just too much uncertainty this year. We hope everyone stays safe and we look forward to seeing you on the water at this same championship in 2021."
The 2021 Hobie Formula Wave and U.S. Multihull Championship, hosted by the Corpus Christi Yacht Club (Texas), is scheduled to take place on November 1-5, 2021.
The U.S. Multihull Championship is a US Sailing National Championship regatta.
