24-26 September 2020
Today's conditions turned out to be very challenging, forecasted by the weather models, with wind increasing to the point of leading the Race Committee to hoist the AP Flag and therefore set the end of the racing after the first race of today.
Today's race has brought about several changes in the general classification, starting with the leader who now is Caipirinha, skippered by Martin Reintjes, with their second place today, the crew of the new World Champions climb to the top of the standings, causing Homanit skippered by Gordon Nickel and Maximilian Stein to slip in second place, after their seventh place today.
The race victory went to Edoardo Pavesio's Fra Martina who, thanks to their bullet, have recovered important positions in the overall standings, climbing up to third place. The top-five is completed by the Russian Bogatyrs skippered by Igor Rytov and Dumbovit skippered by Alessandro Lotto and Flavio Campana.
While the West wind continues to blow insistently on the Marina di Scarlino, hitting peaks over 50 knots, the Melges 32s are waiting to be able to return to racing for the last day of the third event of the Melges World League, organized with the support of the Club Nautico Scarlino.
