Ocean Safety has introduced a High-Speed Priority liferaft servicing scheme for vessel owners and fleet managers who have a tight timeframe to get their liferafts serviced and returned.

The new Hi-Speed Service is on offer at Ocean Safety's UK locations in Southampton, Plymouth and Glasgow. Liferafts can be dropped in to one of the offices and collected within 5-7 days. Taking advantage of the Hi-Speed Priority option, where peak period servicing would usually take four weeks, costs £95 plus VAT per raft in addition to the standard servicing cost.

Ocean Safety's Managing Director Alistair Hackett explains: "The spring is an especially busy time for all safety equipment servicing here at Ocean Safety. The current busy period is exacerbated by the relaxation of Covid restrictions so we are getting an unprecedented demand from vessel owners preparing to get afloat again."

He adds: "Our normal servicing period is approximately four weeks during these times, and we can assure those choosing the regular service option that the return of their liferaft will not be in any way delayed. We appreciate that all of our customers have had to cope with many additional complications in the last twelve months and we are keen to ensure that we can supply a service to help to keep their LSA equipment in date and delivered on time."

Vessel operators and owners are asked to note that the offer only applies to Ocean Safety's own brand liferafts, and not to other safety equipment, all of which can be otherwise serviced in Ocean Safety's normal timescales.

It is vitally important that liferafts are regularly serviced to ensure that components are in working order, should a raft need to be deployed and also to ensure that they remain compliant.
