Just one week left before the early bird entries deadline for The EUROSAF L30 Europeans to be sailed at Lake Balaton, Hungary. The organizers have already received entries from seven nations with some top sailors enrolled. The event is scheduled for 16-20 July 2021 followed by the International Blue Ribbon Race on July 22 with the L30 class as a separate division.

The fast growing L30 class is getting ready for its third continental championship. After visiting Italy and France, the L30 fleet is heading toward turquoise waters of the famous Lake Balaton in the heart of Hungary. The event will be hosted by Spartacus Sailing Club with support from EUROSAF and L30 Class Association.

Conceived by the Olympic medalist Rodion Luka, L30 class boat is the true pocket-rocket. The famous Justin Yacht designed this light-displacement boat. With the LOA of 9.5 and 1820 kg weight, she is powered by almost 100 sq. m of sails, twin rudders and trim tab to spice her up.

On the other hand, with twin wheels and perfectly inhabitable cabin, L30 is very appealing for amateur sailors and club racing as she can be raced both short-handed and fully crewed. Despite the harsh times around Europe, now more than 30 L30 class hulls are racing around the continent.

After two editions, Europeans held in the offshore conditions, the forthcoming event on Balaton is planned for W/L format with one coastal race possible.

"The L30 class has already gained attention from the professionals and Olympians from both Europe and the Americas," the class ideologist Rodion Luka says. "Now we are ready for the most demanding audience that is the grass root club racers. Therefore, the L30 Europeans, unlike previous events, will be held in a club-friendly format with day racing and evening partying. All in all, this is how we all live our sailing lives!"

The place of the 2021 L30 Europeans was chosen for good reason. The main criteria for the location was the convenience for all boat owners and intense racing program. The L30 Europeans have been perfectly fitted into Spartacus Sailing Club's calendar: just the next day the famous International Blue Ribbon Race starts. The regatta attracts hundreds of sailors and the L30 class will enjoy a separate scoring division.

So far, the Organizers have received entries from ten crews representing seven nations: Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Hungry and Ukraine. The L30 class Association is expecting more entries to drop in the forthcoming weeks so the organisers encourage all the crews considering entering the event to meet the early-bird deadline with a lowered entry fee of 900 Euros.
