Barton Marine's 2021 Rising Star, Sailor Harry, is competing this week at the National School Sailing Association's National Youth Regatta in Plymouth.
Racing is running from the 25th-31st July with teams of all abilities competing from the Mountbatten Centre. Nearly 200 youths will be out on the water throughout the week sailing Lasers, Toppers and many other popular dinghy classes.
Sailor Harry, with ambitions to make the Laser Olympic squad, is competing in the Fast Handicap Fleet for Kent and currently placing 2nd out of 18.
The National Youth Regatta is a great event enabling likeminded young sailors from across the U.K. to meet each other and share insights on their sailing ambitions. Outside the busy racing program, entrants are able to benefit from coaching sessions, sports tournaments and cinema evenings alongside a closing party.
Christian Brewer, Barton Marine Global Sales Manager said, "Events like the NSSA National Youth Regatta are what makes the U.K. such a strong sailing nation. It is exciting to see the next generation of talent coming up through the ranks and I am sure we will see some go far. It is great to be able to support Sailor Harry start his sailing career and given his superior start in the regatta, we're cheering him on to maintain excellent scores."
