St.Petersburg Yacht Club and Real Club Náutico Valencia are happy to inform on the dates of the fourth edition of OptiOrange Valencia 2022. The famous Optimist class regatta will be held in Valencia on March 3-6, 2022. The NOR is available and entries are invited.

With the pandemic restrictions that forced cancellation of 2021 OptiOrange Valencia on-water actions in 2021, the organizers decided not to leave the worldwide young sailors' community unattended. The OptiOrange Valencia Virtual was held in March 2021 to maintain the close relations established with worldwide Optimist sailing community. As it might be expected, the virtual racing for 180 entries from 30 nations was as hot as on-water action. There were four rounds of selection sailed with mind-blowing finals where Irish Ben O'Shaughnessy emerged as a winner.

As the worldwide sailing activity recovers from the pandemic, the organizers of OptiOrange Valencia youth regatta - St.Petersburg Yacht Club and Real Club Náutico Valencia - seized the opportunity to continue OptiOrange Valencia for its fourth edition. Now the NOR is available and the dates are set for March 3-6, 2022.

Deriving from previous experience OptiOrange Valencia is constantly developing. Mainly positive response after the 2020 edition brought about some new ideas how the event can be improved in the future.

Firstly all the features that quickly made the OptiOrange Valencia so successful will be maintained. These are low entry fee, affordable boat charter and, definitely, free orange juice. As usual, the Early Bird (before February 1, 2022) entry fee is 90 Euros per sailor. The general entry limit is targeted at 280 sailors.

Than for the fourth edition it is decided to have two race courses for junior and cadet sailors. And of course there will be clinics provided for those who want to be better prepared for the season.

During the racing days the competitors will be supplied with meals.

Generally, the timing of the event proved to be right. Besides this is start of the European season and many international teams are happy to meet each other on the water, this is time for the famous fire festival in Valencia - Las Fallas that will be interesting to witness for both kids and adults.

"Conceived as winter training session for Russians with local sailors OptiOrange Valencia proved to be a good start up - St.Petersburg Yacht Club's Commodore Vladimir Liubomirov comments, - we are very happy to witness such a rapid growth of the event and definitely with kind support of El Real Club Náutico Valencia will do our best to keep up with expectations. So add the OptiOrange Valencia 2022 to your calendar and we are looking forward seeing you in Valencia".

The NoR and Entry Forms are available on the official page.
