  • The Vendée Globe eSeries: 4 stages of preparation for the e-Vendée Globe 2024.
  • First round: the Vendée Globe Atlantic eSeries will start on 10th October 2021 and registration opens at 18:00 today.

After the resounding success of the 9th edition and the million player mark passed, the Vendée Globe and Virtual Regatta are jointly launching the Vendée Globe eSeries, a real e-training for the 2024 Vendée Globe.

A simulation of the course in 4 legs, with a departure from Vendée, a descent of the Atlantic, passing the 3 mythical capes of the Everest of the Seas before returning to Les Sables d'Olonne, the race's home port.

The course will be faithful to the official Vendée Globe route and will take place in four stages:

  • Vendée Globe Atlantic eSeries: from Les Sables d'Olonne to the Cape of Good Hope
  • Vendée Globe Indian eSeries: from the Cape of Good Hope to Cape Leeuwin
  • Vendée Globe Pacific eSeries: Cape Leeuwin to Cape Horn
  • Vendée Globe Atlantic Wayback eSeries: Cape Horn to Les Sables d'Olonne

The first leg, the Vendée Globe Atlantic eSeries will start on Sunday 10th October 2021 at 8.00 pm. Registration opens today at 18h00 on the website www.virtualregatta.com/fr/offshore-jeu.

The Vendée Globe eSeries is aimed at all fans of the Vendée Globe, who want to get back to their roots, challenge their friends and family, or even take their revenge!

Everyone will be able to test themselves against Yannick Bestaven, winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe, Jean-Claude Goudon - tigrou26120 - winner of the 2020 e-Vendée Globe, but also against the whole community of eSailors, while preparing for the 2024 edition of the e-Vendée Globe!

Many skippers in the 2020 Vendée Globe, including Fabrice Amedeo and Sébastien Destremau, have already confirmed their participation.

The Vendée Globe and Virtual Regatta are offering numerous prizes and the winner will be invited to the start of the Vendée Arctique Les Sables d'Olonne in June 2022!

Quotes:

Yannick Bestaven, winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe:

"Team Voile Maître CoQ is fully committed to the VG2024 with the construction of a new IMOCA in order to try to win this demanding and thrilling round the world race again. We have been breathing Vendée Globe since 2018!

"It is obviously very natural for us to be present in this Vendée Globe eSeries in 4 rounds! This game is fun, educational and, above all, very unifying. If I put on my company manager's hat, I can see how Virtual Regatta allows the creation of an internal emulation. Teams are created, they fight virtually on the water and at the end of the day, they exchange ideas in front of the coffee machine... At Maître CoQ and in the LDC group, during the last Vendée Globe there were 200 teams involved. The virtual that puts the human element back at the centre... I agree. Have fun and good luck to all!"

Jean-Claude Goudon - tigrou26120 - winner of the e-Vendée Globe 2020:

"I'm really pleased to be taking part in this new Vendée Globe eSeries race, as it will enable me to get back in touch with the Imoca boat, which has given me so much this past year. Redoing this fabulous course broken down into four races is an excellent initiative that will enable me to relive this great adventure before 2024.

"The participation of the real teams is also very important for us, e-players, in terms of recognition because we admire everything they do on the oceans."
