Due to the extreme weather conditions forecast of 50 knot gusts for today, Sunday 20th February, Blackpool & Fleetwood Yacht Club have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Eskimo pursuit race.

42 boats for 49th running of the event The Eskimo Pursuit race has been in existence for 49 years. Normally held over the festive period, but due to a clash with Grimwith Sailing Clubs “Brass Monkey”, the Eskimo Pursuit was re-scheduled to 26th February. Greeted with high winds Eleven Blazes attended and were greeted with high winds. Despite a low tide race officer Tony Roe set a challenging P course with a tight start line.
