Musto announce new BR2 offshore collection for racers and cruisers

World-leading performance clothing brand Musto have launched a new BR2 offshore collection for Spring Summer 2022.
Drawing on technologies developed on other Musto offshore product lines, the BR2 products have double the performance capabilities of previous best-selling versions. For the first time, they will be available in Musto's signature HPX Gold colourway, making it accessible for sailors aspiring to the winning heights of professional offshore sailors.

Using innovations from our MPX and HPX offshore gear, the new BR2 products are packed with new technologies that will protect against any adverse weather conditions."
The new BR2 fabric is the same tried-and-tested proprietary face fabric made of 100% polyamide, but Musto has introduced a new bi-component membrane combining hydrophilic and microporous technology together in one fabric. Hydrophilic technology allows greater water permeability (the process of transferring moisture vapour from the inside to the outer through the membrane), while microporous technology enhances the breathability. As a result the new bi-component membrane has a performance rating of 30k/12k, double the performance of the original fabric.
In addition, a new Long Lasting Durable Water Repellent* (LDWR) has been applied. The LDWR has been developed using fluorocarbon-free chemistry and has a much higher wet abrasion resistance, meaning the fabric will stay drier for longer compared to the original DWR.

Men's and Women's BR2 Offshore Jacket 2.0 (£350)
- Added stowable spume guard, which can be secured when not in use, designed and tested from Musto's iconic HPX and MPX Collections
- Double storm guard over the centre front zip for improved weather protection.
- New prismatic reflectors offer a larger reflective surface area for enhanced visibility.
- Inner adjustable PU* cuffs to prevent water ingress.
Men's BR2 Offshore Trousers 2.0 (£250)
- Uses the same new membrane technology as the jacket, offering an improved performance of 30k/12k.
- Two new hand warmer pockets positioned on the chest.
- Reinforced bound knee, seat and hems to increase durability.
- New and improved buckle free straps for increased comfort when worn with a life vest
- Large thigh pocket with water deflecting opening.
Women's BR2 Offshore Trousers 2.0 (£250)
- Uses the same new membrane technology as the jacket, offering an improved performance of 30k/12k.
- New kangaroo style handwarmer chest pocket, with two zipped entry points.
- Reinforced bound knee, seat and hems to increase durability.
- New and improved buckle free straps for increased comfort, especially when worn with a life vest.
- Improved fit, offering a slimmer silhouette.
- Vertical zipped drop seat function provides comfort and convenience.
- Updated braces enable the trousers to stay in place when the drop seat is being used.
