SYC’s Friday evening junior sessions, which have been running successfully for many years, are now in full swing for 2022. With 55 juniors signed up this year, sailing a range of boats including RS Teras, Optimists, Toppers and Lasers, the Exe Estuary was once again swarming with Junior sailors on the evening of Friday 22nd April.

The sailors have been split into are four groups, based on experience and interests, each led by qualified and experienced instructors and coaches. This week the beginners group were out in the club's fleet of Comet Trios. In addition, for the first time there is also a double handed group running this year, where sailors have the opportunity to sail one of the club’s four RS Fevas on a three weekly rotation.

The Starcross junior section is gearing up for another busy season. On the back of the hugely successful junior winter training series which ran through the winter, the club has planned various events, including its 250th anniversary in July, and the hotly-anticipated Junior Regatta 18th- 21st August.
