Pacific Cup J/111 doublehanded team crushing it!

The Pacific Cup is now under way for the entire fleet of sixty-two boats! The 2,070nm biennial "fun race to Hawaii" goes from San Francisco to the lush, tropical paradise of Kaneohe, Hawaii on Oahu's famous North Shore.
The course starts just in front of the magnificent St. Francis Yacht Club on San Francisco Bay and the finish is inside Kaneohe Bay. It has to be the prettiest finishing location in all of the Hawaiian Islands.
Sailing in this incredibly diverse fleet of boats is ten J/Teams. Here is how they are doing in their respective classes to date.
Sailing fully crewed are three J/125s, all of whom have either won or podiumed previous Transpac Races or Pacific Cup Races. It's a high probability that may happen again with this trio, as all of them have excellent crews. So far, leading that trio of boats and the BMW of San Rafael Division is Shawn Dougherty & Jason Andrews' HAMACHI, with Rufus Sjoberg's RUFLESS hot on their tail, and James Nichol's VELVET HAMMER sitting third.
Perhaps the most amazing performance at the halfway point in the race is the Doublehanded Division leader- Christina and Justin Wolfe's J/111 RAKU from Orcas Island YC in Seattle, WA. Since their start, they were the leader boat-for-boat at the magical "halfway point" for all J/Boats and are currently listed as winning their class!
Another awesome performance is taking place in the Weems & Plath Division. Winning at the halfway point is the famous dynamic duo of Douglas Schenk and Eric Hopper on their J/105 FREE BOWL OF SOUP from Corinthian YC of Portland, OR.
