Miracle National Championship 2022 at Dabchicks Sailing Club - Overall

by Hannah Metcalfe-Smith 27 Aug 2022 08:49 BST 22-26 August 2022

Day 5 of the Miracle Nationals started slowly, with very little wind and forecast large swing in direction. An indefinite postponement was put in place and the sailors chatted ashore whilst awaiting further instructions in the sunshine.

A relaxing morning stretched into the afternoon with a brief peak in positivity causing some sailors to change into sailing kit, only for the racing to be abandoned around 12.30pm, with race 9, 10 and the Crews race abandoned.

For some sailors this meant securing their place, with others left without an opportunity to improve their overall result - the joys of the weather-dependent sport!

With five race wins, a second, a third and an OCS discarded, the consistency at the start of the week paid off for Ian and Ella Fryett - our Miracle National Champions for 2022.
