WASZP EuroCup Spain and Spanish Nationals preview

by WASZP class 1 Sep 2022 11:23 BST 9-11 September 2022

The next stop on the WASZP EuroCup is Spain, in conjunction with the Spanish Nationals from the 9-11th of September. This will double as a qualifier for the Spain SailGP event in Cadiz.

With over 22 entries already, we expect to see 30 boats hit the startline in Santander. The final event in Germany has even stronger entries, promising a big finish to a bumper European season.

Eliot Savelon from the Netherlands currently leads the EuroCup series from Micha De Weck, however, De Weck is coming hard and has some strong performances in the back part of the season. Marie Butler Wang from Norway is sitting in 3rd place and first female.

The winner of the 2022 EuroCup gets a fantastic prize, with 2x spectator tickets to the SailGP event of their choice for season 4.

We will wrap up the northern hemisphere summer in Germany from the 1-3 October for the final EuroCup event.
