2022 International Moth World Championship at Yacht Club Argentino - Overall

by Moth Worlds Argentina 2022 5 Dec 2022 06:20 GMT 27 November - 4 December 2022

The Moth 2022 World Championship, organized by the Yacht Club Argentino at its headquarters in Dársena Norte, came to an end on Sunday. It was a challenging event and conditions weren't always easy, but we managed to have thirteen fair races that gave us new champions.

On the sixth and last day, three races were completed.

In the first race, 8 knots were blowing from the NE sector. Massimo Contessi won this race.

As the day went on, the wind shifted to the east and reduced its intensity. The Italian Francesco Bruni won the last two races and took the title of Master World Champion.

After thirteen races, British sailor Dylan Fletcher Scott was crowned 2022 World Champion in the Moth Class, with a total of seventeen points. Argentina's Massimo Contessi came in second place with twenty-seven points and also received the title of Junior World Champion. Completing the podium was Italy's Simone Salva, with thirty-six points.

Helena Scutt was crowned Female World Champion.

Thanks to the sailors, volunteers, staff and sponsors! The sponsors of this event are: Conservas Marechiare, Oh! Gift Card, Lowe Developers, Zhik, Unplastify, Maguire Boats, PSA, Garda Carbon Lab.
