Entries have opened today for Cowes Classics Week 2023 and early-bird rates are available now. Racing will run from 10th to 14th July.
The world's largest classic yacht regatta of its kind welcomes a wide range of yachts and its club-based social programme, including afternoon tea kindly provided by Evelyn Wealth Managers, is very popular with visitors to Cowes.
Multiple race courses are set each day, catering both for large one-design fleets and for all-comers in handicap fleets. Classic yachts built in wood or steel before 1975, or GRP yachts designed at least 50 years ago, are eligible. So too are all classic S&S-designed yachts, including Swans and S&S 34s, regardless of design date. Spirit of Tradition yachts designed to classic lines are also welcomed. There is a non-spinnaker division for classic yachts above 30' in length.
Entries are anticipated from well-known dayboat fleets including Dragons, Swallows, Solent Sunbeams, Loch Long ODs, XODs, BODs, Squibs, Flying Fifteens and many more, together with metre boats, old gaffers and cruiser/racers such as Folkboats, Contessas, SCODs, Twisters and Nicholsons. This year the Queen Victoria Trophy will be awarded in the Swallow class as they celebrate their 75th birthday at Cowes Classics Week.
Cowes Classics Week provides a week of varied, challenging and fun racing in Cowes. Furthermore, on Sunday 9th July over 60 high quality classic cars and interesting classic boats including a WWII Motor Gun Boat, will assemble on The Parade and Trinity Landing for the third edition of Cowes Classics Day. Red Funnel is generously providing discounted ferry travel for competitors and visitors.
Early bird rates are available now and entries can be made via the home page here.
