If you did not attend you missed an amazing event: 12 to 20 knots of windward-leeward courses on Saturday - not a cloud in the sky! 16 teams entered including eight visitors.

The Sunday was similar weather, but the club started with a windward leeward which then turned into around the cans, if you have never sailed from Aldeburgh, we cannot tell you how beautiful it is while racing.

The Southern Traveller's Series of which this is part is all about turning up, racing hard, and making new friends. One great example of this was a visitor that had never travelled to an open meeting asked for some help rigging and setting up their boat. In ten minutes, six people worked together, the boat was rigged, tuned, and ready to go.

What was even better the crew of that boat sailed better than they had expected and kept walking around smiling (and buying drinks to say thank you).

Congratulations go to GBR 4033 Justin Waples and Jackie Mckellar, visiting from Burnham RCYC, who not only had a convincing win but were some of the most active sailors helping other race teams improve their boat performance (an amazing team).
