Sea Tow is pleased to announce that local entrepreneur and business owner, Steve Arnold has added Sea Tow® Portland/Midcoast, Maine, to his portfolio of marine businesses.

Steve is the owner of Marina Holdings LLC, which is a family of businesses dedicated to helping people enjoy time on the water in the way that best fits their budget and lifestyle. They do this by providing highly trained and dedicated employees, quality products and reliable services. This same company credo will carry over to the management of Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast as well. Marina Holdings LLC includes Yarmouth Boat Yard, Moose Landing Marina, Freedom Boat Club of Maine, Maine Boating Academy, and now Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast.

While Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast may be under new ownership, Sea Tow legacy Captain Bruce White will stay on the team as an ambassador and Captain Chris Davis will assume the role of General Manager and will continue to oversee all aspects of Sea Tow's on-water operations. Several other former employees will also stay on with Sea Tow, maintaining their current roles.

An additional service provided is Sea Taxi by Sea Tow, an on-water taxi service in Portland Harbor and throughout the islands of Casco Bay. Captain Bill Tracey will continue to operate this service under the new ownership.

Prior to the acquisition, Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast served Cape Porpoise to Pemaquid Point and the Inland Rivers. Under this new ownership, the company is expanding its territory to include freshwater bodies of water Sebago Lake, Brandy Pond and Long Lake.

"We are thrilled to add Sea Tow Portland/Midcoast to our family of businesses," said Steve Arnold, CEO of Marina Holdings. "With this addition, customers can count on us for all their boating needs including sales, slips, service, storage, rentals, boat club, boat training, on water transportation, and now towing and salvage. Keeping on the same Sea Tow management team, who have successfully operated the franchise for many years, will help ensure that we maintain the same level of exceptional service our customers know they can rely on."

With a Sea Tow membership, boaters pay one annual rate and receive the most comprehensive member benefits available 24/7/365. Members receive priority service, including free boat towing, unlimited dock-to-dock towing on all boats, nationwide coverage, fuel delivery, battery jump starts and exclusive member savings and discounts.

With more than 500+ ports nationwide including the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Sea Tow has been the leader in on-water assistance since 1983. The member-driven, franchise-based concept, coined by Captain Joseph Frohnhoefer, was established in Southold, NY, when the United States Coast Guard ceased response to non-emergency boating calls. Today in addition to on-water assistance, the franchise network handles salvage and recovery missions, and responds to natural disasters, environmental hazards, oil spill cleanups, vessel for hire and a host of other maritime services.
