It's hotting up nicely with all to play for with two races to go, In the FGSC sunset salver midweek extravaganza. A 22 race series and the tightest tussle for the top spot we have seen for a number of years.

Currently leading the way Harry Steward/Claudia Mancini in vintage Merlin 1742, just two points are behind father daughter team Tony/Jess Cooper vintage merlin 3252. These two teams have been neck and neck all season pushing each other all the way. Due to the extraordinary breeze we have had all summer we have only lost one race to lack of wind.

Fighting for the final podium position, past sunset salver winner Richard Coulter Solo 5068 and Blake Newman Aero 6, and point separates these two combatants, next up is the battle of the new Merlin crews, new to the fleet Angie Meyer and Oz Ahmet crewing for Nick Yannakoyorgos vintage Merlin 3055, Godfrey Clark vintage merlin 3216 retrospectively, both showing great improvement and fun competitive streak giving max effort to beat each other for bragging rights in the bar.

Add wild cards from the Solo fleet turning up for the odd race makes life interesting for the front runners. Mid-fleet battles hotly contested with the standard remaining high further down the fleet.

Who will hold their nerve heading into the final stretch? A tough one to call, and we can't wait to find out. A great series so far; let's hope the breeze plays ball and however the final positions end up the competitors would have earned it. Watch this space.
