30 September - 1 October 2023
With 12 Finn arriving in the dinghy park en-masse at HISC at the beginning of the year, Europe activity a plenty, and OKs with Paul, Charlie, Alex, Matt and Simon, an event towards the end of the season to celebrate the unstayed single handers has been hatched.
On the Europe front we have the top three from the most recent Stokes Bay open attending being Jeremey Hartley, John Rees and Jason Belben, a bit of a J theme there. HISC locals are all entered and a couple of loan boats to two HISC youth have been organised along with a couple of very old hands going back to the days of the Europe's first Olympic introduction.
On the OK front we have Charlie Cumbley just returned from Garda winning the OK European champs and also keeping him company on the podium Matt Howard, along with father and son team Paul and Simon Childs, Alex is graciously loaning his pride and joy out.
On the Finn front we have stalwarts of the HISC Finns Simon Petit, Roman Kyodykin, Andy Gray amongst others all lined up and ready for some Hayling Bay west action.
The NoR and entry is available here, please note the entry list is not a live system and is manually updated, a bit like dial up! Saturday evening chilli in the dining room with a talk from Matt Howard on downwind free pumping with extracts from his time as coach to Team GB's Double Gold medallist.
Allen Brothers, North Sails and Suntouched Sailboats have all been generous in providing some spot prizes for the Saturday night.
RO Adrian Ward and experienced race team will be setting three races a day with the intention of Hayling Bay West.
Last day of entry is Wednesday evening of the 27th and if you wish to book a Chilli then call the club office on 02392463768 and ask for Kim . Kim can also deal with accommodation.
With the Europes having their Nationals in 24, the Masters and Youth Europeans in 25 and a bid for the worlds some time after, Finns looking at a masters worlds bid and a few years time an OK international all at HISC there is no time to loose in getting some bay action. Looking forward to seeing the three classes out in the bay.
