The Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja closes the first of the four days planned. A very long and complicated day for the race committee, led by Luky Serrano, in which they have had to deal with a very capricious wind at the end of the day, previously forced a postponement on land for three hours. At 12.00 hours the 427 sailors made their way to the race area. After 4.30 p.m. the first race was launched for the Yellow group, followed by the rest of the groups.

The time, the playful wind and the strong current prevented the White group from completing the course. When they had already passed the halfway point of the race and seeing that they did not arrive in time, the committee cancelled the race for this group.

Since not all the groups were closed, only three, there is no official classification but order of arrival. In the Yellow group the first three were Mehmet Erkut Budak, from Turkey, followed by the Polish Maurycy Kosmowski and the Spanish Nikko Palou. The first female was the Swedish Cornelia Baldock Frost.

In the Red group, Iker Múgica was first, followed by Italian Andrea Demurtas and Spaniard Mateo Carbonell. Freja Vintergaard, from Denmark, was the first female to take the finish. In the Blue group, the order of finish was as follows: Lluc Garcés, Pepe García and Izán Rogel, while the Swedish Elsa Beijar, fourth at the finish, is the first in girls.

The day concluded with the Welcome Party, the welcome for all the teams participating in the regatta, with a parade of all the flags, both regional and from the respective participating countries.

Tomorrow Friday, January 25th, second day of the Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja in which it is expected to launch the first at 10.00 am with the White group to close the first test for the four groups. The same groups will be maintained. It is expected to complete three tests in order to close the qualifying round.
