The XIV Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja closes another chapter and does so with the new champions after a spectacular fourth day, with good wind conditions and four races completed today. The absolute podium has had Catalonia as the main and only protagonist with two representatives of the CN Cambrils: Iker Múgica, champion, and Joan Domingo, bronze, while the silver went to Juan Lleonart, CN Balis.
Múgica is going strong in the Optimist and in Torrevieja has demonstrated it again. After the four partial victories in the qualifying round, in the final series has gone down a gear especially in the seventh race that signed a discreet 22. He started the day with 5th place, when the wind conditions were somewhat weak. In the other two, again partial victories in races 6 and 7 which leaves him first with 11 points.
Lleonart, on the other hand, was dismissed with 18 points. Two partial wins stand out in his locker, while the 'mole' has it in the last of the day with DNC (110 points), partial that was to be removed. The podium in the women's category was closed with the Ukrainian Olha Lubianska with 58 points, her best results being two third places and a fourth place in the eight races completed. With her, Sweden's Cornelia Baldock (LDSS) climbed the podium with 119 points, with 3rd as a result. Bronze for the Murcian Mª Antonia Peñalver (CN Mar Menor Los Alcázares).
Among the 'peques' the title in SUB13 stays at home thanks to the triumph of Izan Rogel (RCN Torrevieja), while the silver travels to Hungary in the hands of Barnabas Gereben (Spartacus Sailing Class) and the bronze goes to Jávea with Arthur Bear Baker (CN Jávea).
Among the SUB13 women, Spanish color on the podium. Alexandra Youji Wangliu (RCN Valencia) is proclaimed champion. Her best partial is a 12 harvested today in the second race of the Silver group. Inés Rodado (CN Mar Menor Los Alcázares) takes second place, followed by Ukrainian Ahnieshka Madonich (Optimist Way / SVOC).
