Get set for the Royal Southern Summer Series

by James Ripley-Giles 4 Feb 2024 18:04 GMT May - September 2024

The Royal Southern Yacht Club are delighted to officially launch our flagship Summer Series for 2024. Going from strength to strength, we have exciting plans to make this year's series the best yet! Widely regarded as the best inshore racing on the Solent, this is not to be missed.

The series kicks off on 18-19 May at the North Sails May Regatta. Racing will be for Black Group consisting of IRC Classes, HP30s, J/111s, and a new mixed Sportsboat Class for J/70s, SB20s, and RS21s. In June, we welcome the Cape 31 class for their Round 3, racing three days Friday 7th - Sunday 9th.

Black Group will look the same as May, racing on Saturday and Sunday. July will be the longest and biggest regatta of the season. Racing kicks off on Thursday 18th with the SB20 National Sprint Championships, with the class' National Championships starting on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, they are joined by Black Group (minus the sportsboat class) - plus a third race area for the J/70 Sprint Championships. September sees two days of racing on 21st - 22nd on two race courses - one for Black Group, and the other for the HP30 National Championships.

As well as the world class racing, our Summer Series is famed for the unforgettable entertainment on the shore. This year, there will be live music, street food, and complimentary drinks for all crews. Full details to be announced.
